Hi all,

I´m a bit bored and I think I need a new toy... :youcrazy:

I have 2 options in mind: a GPR and a Traditions Pennsylvania rifle, both in percussion.

I know that the GPR might have more "authentic" finnish than the Traditions Pennsylvania. I have a couple Traditions rifles and their bores are superb, but their stocks and finnishes are a bit basic.....

What do you think?

GPR! I finally got one in the past month after lusting after a .50 for a few years. I won't downplay the Traditions Pennsylvania, but I LOVE my GPR. Shoots waaaaaay better than I am as a marksman, right out of the box.

Since you are located in Spain, I wonder if the GPR has the needed European proof stamps. Since it is made by Investarms of Italy, it probably does.

If proofing is not an issue, I would go for the GPR or a Pedersoli Missouri River or Rocky Mountain Hawken before a Traditions.

Best answer. A gun can look real purty and shoot nice. Then you buy it and its too long, too heavy, trigger is a pain etc and though its purty you lose interest. Fit is very important if your gonna keep t awhile.

I thinking it a little more, maybe I´ll finally choose the Traditions.
As they are produced here, parts would be easier to find.

In my region ML shooters are almost non existent, so I don´t have the chance to compare both rifles, in fact, the GPR can only be purchased in one single gunshop in the whole country....so parts can be a pain if needed.

Great advice.
In my experience Lyman has better quality.

In my own experience and that of my circle of shooting buds, Traditions locks seem to experience a high rate of problems.... Sooner or later. Lyman locks have been completely reliable in our circle, accounting for something over 20 rifles in total.
