on one of my tc the rear sight was froze up from corrosion, I recently aquirred this rifle so I went through the W-D 40 to loosen it up I thought I would take it completely apart clean it up and re install. the first time not a problem the second time I got everything nice and clean went to install the e clip on the rear sight that adjusts windage and it took off. ive literally tore my work room apart trying to find it. if I know the size I can ordere one, hope I don't have to order a rear sight just for an e-clip ive got an extra set of sights for a greyhawk/ New Englander but those sights don't have an e-clip

Best way to find the lil booger is to order a new one for $.89 cents and $14.99 shipping. Soon as the cards is charged you will find it. Likely with 4-5 feet of where you were working in a place too obvious to have ever thought to look (like stuck, by a bit of grease, to a box with a perfect blend in). :shake:

X2 on Mr. Troll. An Ace or True Value hardware should be able to help you along with any good locally owned one. An automotive parts store might be able to match it too.

I have a supply of small e clips. If you could measure the shaft diameter at the groove, I may have some that would fit.

Go down to the dollar store and buy a magnet.
Put it on a string and comb the area where you were working.
mine is missing as well, and I wound a fine wire around the the area where the clip was.

You have to use the right method to find lost parts.
I once dropped an under-rib screw onto my patio; right at my feet; of course, I could not see/find it.
So I went an got my big stick handled magnet. I grid searched the patio (and beyond) with the magnet for about an hour covering every square inch multiple times; no luck. (Don't short cut the magnet search; it is a necessary step; go slow and cover the area many, many times; note, however that you will not find the missing part with the magnet.)
I then mumbled something appropriate and went and got myself a cold one. I cracked open the cold one, took a deep breath and let it out slowly saying to myself, "I give up."
Then I looked down to where I had seen the screw hit the patio; of course it was right there.
Now check it with the magnet; yep, it's magnetic.
One more deep breath and repeat after me, "It just doesn't matter."

Or you could use this situation as an opportunity to " keep tradition alive". Cut a dovetail and slide a plain sight in there. Hacksaw and files, one a triangular.
