A friend and I put up a new hawk block yesterday. There were some tree roots causing a little dig problem on one hole, but that was the only hick up. Took down an old Maple on the property about a month ago. The blocks are branches. Didn't realize I was in the wrong forum section. I do not know how to move it.
Now I can get in a little practice. Flintlocklar

Nice stand, nice size blocks.
maple is kind of hard though, look for cottonwood is possible.
Just a tip;
Willow is the best.
Leave the blocks a little longer next time,, you can "face" them a time or too.

Thanks , I agree about wood preferences, but ya have to use what is available. When you have lots of wood, you can also change out a small bock by yourself.

Very nice stand. But, as others have said, maple is a pretty hard wood for a t'hawk block. Be careful about bounce back, especially from knives.

Very nice setup, I'll keep it in mind when I put up mine.
