Does anyone plan to go to a NMLRA Territorial this year?
If not why? Thanks to all who reply.

Michael

I attended one this past weekend and had a great time.
21 shooters shooting ML having the same interest - can't beat that!

Was that the one in Tn. near Athens?

Arizona no longer has a "terrotorial", because the locals did all the work, and the money were else where.

Honestly shoot for medals, or ribbons was never a big turn on for me. Nothing is more fun then a good old fashion blackest shoot with hand crafted prizes.

Yes, I know how many there are. I am a Match Director for two of them. I am asking question because we have a new Coordinator and he and had a long talk on Sunday afternoon about such things. I would like see see several changes. I am just getting started.

Anyone know why the money went somewhere else?
If the Host club takes in the money, has control of the money where did it ' go '. I have not read where there was a Territorial in Az in a long time. So is this just more of the NMLRA takes the money? I have heard that story many tims, including the Pacitic National Rendezvous from some time ago. So, what is the deal?

It doesn't necessarily have to be a Territorial to shoot and have fun, I shot in TN,IH agg and there's another match this weekend (chunk), then Oak Ridge next weekend. Don't own a chunk gun, so I'm only participating in 2/3 - busy times.

I do recall hearing in the 80's that the NMLRA hosted a National match out west (may have been AZ) and wired $100K to match director for needs for the match to occur - the guy ran off with the $, never to be seen again. Maybe he too felt he did all the work and needed compensated, compared to all the volunteers who help run the matches in IN.

Wow, $100k as in $ 100,000.00?
Where oh where do rumors like that start?
My wife and I belong to several clubs and try to shoot at least once a month. I am curious how many people on this Forum shoot in a Territorial.

I have not shot a territorial just because they are far from where I live. I have, however, made the trip to the WNS the last two years and enjoyed it.

I have not shot at any of the local shoots for years. Time is an issue. I am hoping that make one this year.

I thought that when the kids left home I would have more time.

Packed and ready to head to Oakridge TN in a couple of days for some long range shooting.

We missed the Western this year, we hope to go next year. I wished there was a Territorial in Texas. We like the Territorial program very much.

We take our kids with us. My daughter and son-in-law are great to travel and shoot with. We are blessed that one of our children stayed with the hobby.

I take my youngest (age 19) to Friendship every year. He has been going quite a few years.

My oldest graduated from college in Dec and moved 90 miles from Friendship. I thought that he finally will get to Friendship this year with us, but a wedding for a friend has messed that up for him.

Well I was at the Western one day to visit with some friends this year. Was told they had 113 Register Shooter, 5 or 6 Traders at end of counting. Not what you would call very good.

Back in 1999 it was almost 400, over 60 Traders, so numbers do not lie, will it happen again?

Good question.
