Can't seem to find it here in Canada. Even Walmart just across the border doesn't seem to be able to get it. Would like to try it. Even Amazon says they don't know if or when it will be available...........Chawbeef

Midway USA has it in stock for a bit over $4.00. Wal-Mart.com just over $5.00 (ship to store free?)
Amazon just over $9.00 free freight
Cheaper than Dirt $6.39.......

All those in a few min on the interweb

Better getcha some  :haha:

I buy it by the case and the best price - including shipping - was from www.gnarlygorilla.com .

It is on sale right now at Midway for $4.79/bottle.

I recently used it w/ my 75-cailber looooooong 60” barreled Hudson Valley club butt fowler using 90-grain loads of 1Fg powdah and I shot > 30-shots and never needed to wipe the bore between shots. Even though I missed the 15 & 20-yards gongs (small squirrel & whabbit) ... I hit everything else out to ~80-yards & got 2nd place smoothbore!

I've been thinking of trying Hoppe's #9 Solvent & Lube myself but I do have a few questions. Where to buy it, what to buy, is there difference between the regular Hoppe's #9 and the Hoppe's #9 Plus and is it a good hunting lube that won't contaminate the powder if you leave the gun loaded for several days?

Percy

USE THE BLACK POWDER SOLVENT ONLY. Hunting I used it for years with no problems (I use a singledrop and rub it in good). Then the guys here said I couldnt so I started using mink oil for hunting. They said it would wet the powder. I had thought of that then decided if the top of the powder got damp the mini explosion at ignition would dry it out. Never lost a critter cuz of it. So until these guys say ya cant use it ya can, then ya gotta use mink oil. (I never saw any rust either?).

Order on line. Its great.

The last Hoppes BP lube I bought was ordered - can't recall from whom - in a heavy duty gallon drum. I use it every time I go out to just shoot.

Just ordered several bottles from MidwayUSA. None was available locally. Midsouth Shooters Supply lists it as well for a few cents more.

I've been using it as a patch lube for years. Best stuff I've found. It's really helpful when shooting 32 caliber.

Jeff

I use it in my Lyman Great Plains .50 rifle as a patch lube . . . I have used an over the power felt wad, but not always . . .can't tell if it is necessary or helps all that much.

Have taken two deer in 15 & 16 w Hoppes BP as patch lube, so I have no complaints. . .

I have a .32 TVM with a Rice barrel, that I may try it with too.

ya. course I use less now as I went "Dutch". Still using on a few, .32 .45 and pistols. I did p.u. some blkMZ for $9.99 though. Have yet to shoot enough to comment much though it goes off and clean well

I lube with Hoppes every time I go out to shoot. But when hunting, TOW mink oil is what I use.

Thanks, Eric. I'll check it out.
