Hello all I live in Jacksonville Fl and am looking for some black powder I've heard GoEx is really good but I'am having a hard time finding it I have a 50 Cal CVA bobcat am shooting can any one help out in telling were to go to get some
Thank-You

Order it and have it delivered. There are many vendors. The has-mat fee will probably be similar to gas money, don't worry about it.

Have you tried calling all of the gun stores in your area?

The stores are not allowed to have real black powder sitting on a shelf. Federal regulations require that it must always be locked up in an approved storage locker.

Because of this, more than a few times, even the employees of the store don't know they actually have it available.
Talk to the owner or manager of each store to find out the real answer.

Looks like a lot of good choices offered here. I have found that if I buy 4 pounds of powder (any powder including the no-smoke stuff) I will break even from the high prices encountered in the local stores. Plus I can get primers, caps, fuse and a lot of other stuff delivered to my door with no hassle, no sales tax, no driving around trying to find who has what in stock. If you know what you want, go on-line.

Some Outdoor World / Bass Pro Shops carry Goex.

But you have to ask for it's not on the shelf.

Have found it in Basspro before. Just had to ask for a manager as it's locked up in the back.

Thanks for all the great answer I did not know that they couldn't keep it on the shelves I just now have to figure out on which one am going to do

Florida has a boat load of NMLRA Affailated Charter Clubs. Try and touch base with the local Club they may have a magazine and resell power, or point you to local sources.

I wouldn't count on a local club selling any black powder even if they have it.

Unless they are a registered dealer for black powder, they can't legally sell it, even in small quantities.

My local store owner told me that his insurance limits him to 50 lbs on hand, so he can only order 25 lbs at a time. He figures that he loses on every can he sells, but stocks it so that people can buy some. (He's a real BP lover.) He advised me to buy on line. I have had very good service from both Powder Inc. and Graff's.
