Finally had a fairly wind free, nice day that coincided with a day off so I was able to get out for a bit and test the 12 GA Investarms "Gallyon" that Danny Caywood Jug Choked "Full" for me a while back. I have shot this gun after Jug Choking and was really pleased with the dramatic pattern improvement but was concerned about the pattern center being left of point of aim. I did some research her regarding that topic and ended up discovering the barrel was noticeably out of square at the muzzle. I spent some time squaring it up but yesterday was my first opportunity to see the results of the modification. I am convinced the pattern is WAY closer to center, I may do a wee bit more filing. I do need to learn more about how to shoot without a back sight as you will see if I am able to upload these pictures effectively. I must say, the effects of Jug Choking have given me confidence out to 30 yards where before, I do not believe I would have even taken it Turkey Hunting because the pattern at 25 yards was unacceptable. Well, here goes on the photo upload.

Lookin' good! If the Merrriams will cooperate, you're in business this spring. I have a Caywood Chiefs that I had Danny jug choke, and it shoots nice groups. I'm looking forward to spring turkey also.

I think some work is needed on poi!

I agree. The elevation is my desire to shoot it like a rifle and really bear down on the bead. When I just shoulder naturally and keep my cheek down, the elevation is consistent. I showed the worst targets for that. I think if I do a bit more work on the muzzle, the left impact will be corrected.
