Location
The hills of Southern Indiana
In a month and a half, the State of Indiana will see fit that my turkey hunting itch may be scratched.

I'm getting pumped thinking ahead to warm sunny mornings with the toms blasting gobbles off the hillsides, near and far!!!

Any of you black powder nuts getting pumped too???

"It won't be long, it won't be long, it won't be long".....my strategy of dealing with the wait is to keep up this chant. I don't do yoga, and would look strange in the tights anyway. :haha:

Best regards, Skychief

I'm looking forward to it, but trying not to get too excited. The weather here can be so weird and unpredictable that sometimes we don't get much of a season as the legal season doesn't always coincide with the birds activities. I did buy a new box call a few months ago and have been playing with it. Still prefer my slate calls, broke my wingbone call.

That surprises me. I assumed you would be chanting "It's too long!, It's too long!, It's too long!" In tights, of course.

:haha:

Ye we will judge...

I got skunked on turkey tag :shake: (and my dog got skunked under the shed at 1:30 AM this morning, FUN

I dont even know any kids I could take :( (youth can hunt OTC for a whopping $15.00 in AZ)

Brokennock, the sunny skies and warm temps I wrote of may be wistful thinking. I've seen many openers include terrible weather too. Good luck!

Spence, :shake: :shake: :shake: :shake: :shake:

Nate, some things are better left to the imagination. Me in tights would qualify. I couldn't get your link to open.

AZ, sorry to hear that you didn't raise a tag this year. Hopefully "Fido" loses his stench soon! I've gone the tomato juice route before. Seemed my sprayed dogs then smelled like skunk AND tomato. :haha:

Years ago I got some stuff from the local county extension office to eliminate a skunk smell on our dog. Can't remember the name but it was good stuff.

It's been a long winter...I'm ready to repeat this scene

Opens April 15th here. It's an 8 hour drive for me, usually take a week off. Patterning my gun now to be ready, and YEAH! I'm jazzed.

I no longer get especially enthusiastic about the hunting seasons. Yes, I still love the hunt and getting out and into the bush; but the increasing pain and fatigue from the ra, simply put, knocks the breath and desire out of me. Don't know how much longer I'll even hunt or be able to get out. I haven't missed a season yet; but the last three or four saw me out there only 2-3 times a year.

I feel your pain Hanshi, literally...
Docs are talking about steel knees and shoulders, sometimes I feel like we should just let nature take us where he thinks best.
And yes, I will go out for spring turkey, but with the "unmentionable". I am looking for a front stuffer shotgun that's not modern in-line.

Heck Boomerang, that's an easy fix. They've got guys working overtime churning them out. If you get one, new or used, you'll wonder hope you got along without one.
