Went to look at a Pietta navyarms double tonight. Never been fired.
Nice gun but!
No wedge keep!
The thing is too heavy! As heavy as a current Pedersoli!
It all a bit off putting!

Ditto .
Thought I'd found a nice sxs 12ga percussion .
But it has a dent in one barrel .
Oh well .

They are more substantial in size to handle those heavier loads without ripping out our shoulders. How did it shoulder though? I find they come up on the sights for me almost as good as the old 13 gauge Pedersoli doubles.

It came up nice.
I will ponder it some more.....

It's news to me that there are other versions of the Navy Arms Pietta. Mine is very light and balanced for very quick handling. Recoil has never been an issue for me because I use moderate loads (seldom more than 1 1/8 oz), but I could see the value of more weight if heavy loads were on the docket.

I have a olderNavy Arms/Pietta. It is on the heavy side, particularly in comparison with my originals.

Enclosed is a image of a Navy Arms 12 bore and a Pedersoli 12 bore of the early 1970,s .The Navy Arms was from kit form
