About a decade ago I bought the six cylinder firing pin conversion cylinder for my 1858 steel frame Remington repro for 80 bucks. I didn't like it so I bought the single firing pin and ballistic shield and loading gate type, this too was 80 bucks. The latter type had an ejection rod built into the cylinder pin. I had to grind the right side of the receiver to accept cartridges and cut a notch in the loading lever to store the ejection rod. I reload .45 Colt rounds to low velocity and the weapon functions great. The good thing is that the percussion cylinder will go right back in. Now however, those conversion cylinders are over 300 bucks....amazing.

Rule # 10: We do not discuss conversion cylinders or anything to do with metal cartridges.
