Went trout fishing the other day, on my way to the secret trout hole noticed a single sprout of skunk cabbage. Still a bit cool out around here but a bettin it wont be long.
 
just barely out of the cover, looking forward to gathering a mess. I fry up a mess for a meal with bacon, tater and couple eggs, and pickle a wide-mouth pint jar of them. good with soup beans.
 
bulbs and partway up the shoots. seems the further up the hotter it is. fry in bacon grease. good with taters. egg if you have.
 
Bear Claw: March maybe. I don't believe April. [rising to depart] March is a green muddy month down below, some folks like it, FARMERS mostly. You've done well to keep so much hair when so many's after it. I hope that you fare well.
