This relentless influenza is killing me, lost time at work, sleepless nights and worst of all little energy to go hunting!

I managed a short walk for a few hours, just taking my time.
Seen a few pheasant and woodcock but never got a chance.
I did however find a spot that regular visiting wood pigeons were dropping in after a feed on a nearby rape field.
Bessy loaded with 2oz of #7&1/2 of shot soon had a few down.

A 2 oz. load must pound your shoulder. I'm too puny for that kind of shooting.

Get well soon.
Thank you.

No not at all, this reproduction Bess is a greedy girl.
She doesn't seem effective until fed a goodly measure!

Good shooting, especially considering how you feel!

Flu bug is bad in the U.S. this year. Keeping my fingers crossed as none of my immediate family has been struck by it yet.

A little honey in hot rum perhaps???
Thank you and I wish for you to miss the virus, the medics say it is two serious viruses going around the world. One is swine flu and is fitting as my wife often mentions the word swine in my presence!

This is my influenza temporary fix.
35% whiskey, 5%honey or brown sugar and 60% boiling water.
In keeping with my unscientific approach to things all measurements are approximated and usually start with the whiskey

That must be why why every Bess that I've seen has such a big butt...
Good shooting and hope you get to feeling better soon.

BTW- My flu/cold medicine is whiskey, honey, lemon juice with some hot water. Like they say, might not cure ya but you'll not care about being sick.

Hmmm, I tried lemon juice too but found it displaced way too much whiskey!!

whiskey, honey, lemon juice with some hot water

and per the ol folks....if ya have a nasty congested cough ya add black pepper to break it up

Years ago my daughter had a cough that would LITERALLY clear aisles n stores etc. To date I have never heard a worse or more frighting cough from any man or beast! We had pre paid for a disney trip. Dr's codeine based cough syrup was like pissin in the ocean. Grandpas recipe worked well, got her through the airport, the flight and she recovered well on vacation. I will confess we substituted black berry brandy for the whiskey ( :surrender: she was 4 yrs old!) :eek:ff
