Just finished Andrew Jackson and the miracle of New Orleans by Kilmeade. A person who knows little to less on Jackson and the battle it’s a good introduction. To the people that do know a bit about it it’s light fluff, but it was a fun read. I would recommend it as a plesent retelling of events. Don’t go to it looking for a deep informative tome. Enjoy it with some good adult beverage, the sound of a rain outside, kitty on you lap or dog sleeping at your foot. It’s just a fun little read.

Fun reads of historic events are fun. For New Orleans you may want to look for a copy of "The British At The Gates" by Robin Reilly, one of the better accounts without being dreary and full of first person comments.
