Just recently picked up this beautiful Mike Brooks built Colonial Rifle.

.54 Caliber Rice 44" Swamped Barrel
Chambers Colonial Lock
Davis Triggers

With very little load work up so far, I'm impressed. 3/4" to 1" groups at 50 yards with a .530 ball, .018 tick patch and Track's Mink Oil lube. With my eyes, that might be as good as it gets, but I'll keep working on it.

Hope you enjoy the view!

Mike is one amazing rifle maker and you're one amazingly luck guy too! :hatsoff:

Great pictures!

Really like the buttplate and side plate engraving..

Nice looking colonial rifle.

Never seen a Brooks build I didn't like.

Gonna be a deer thumper!

Beautiful rifle. Mike does fantastic work. Im lucky enough to own one of his rifles

You are so lucky he didn't beat the hell out of that stock with a chain LOL!!Beautiful gun!Did you get the Frizzen fixed?

Absolutely beautiful gun. And sounds like it shoots as good as it looks. Mike does great work. I own three made by him. Congrats. Super nice one.

Rick

I like the look of the aged brass . . . not sure how it was done, but it was done well. (Is that even good grammar ?)

Be pretty hard to sneak this rifle out the door!
While at deer camp Mike sleeps with it..
Ill keep trying!
It might take a carrot cake coma.

Seeing lots of deer..mostly small bucks..

10 days with nothing to do.

Oh! And this rifle is even nicer in person.

Man, that's a beaut! I thought the wood on my Brooks fowler (#113) was to die for, but that stick on your smokepole is glorious! Sounds like a real shooter, too, which is where it's really at after all. Mike became a master early on and keeps getting better.
