Just trade for a David Pedersoli 12 gauge Muzzeloader looks to be a classic but has a choke in both barrels. Do anyone know if load 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 loads. Cant I do rd balls if so what size and how with the chokes in. Hate to sound stupid but I guess I am. It was left to the man by his uncle and he didn't know a lot. Any help or direction would be appreciated.
thanks Ken

Most Pedersoli doubles in 12g state a max of 1&1/4oz and 90grn of powder.

They tend to shoot high for me, the stocks don't have enough drop for me, usually.

Just use thin cards for wads, they pass the chokes easy edge on.

monkr, check with Pedersoli's warranty center in Lamar, MO. Lee Shaver Gunsmith. Be warned, you will likely end up talking guns for longer than you planned on. Great guy and a wealth of knowledge.

I think the loads for the Pedersoli sxs shotgun was discussed in an early thread .I have always used in mine 2.3/4 drms of black powder to 1 .1/8 or 1.1/4 oz of shot Has for round balls to use them in a choked barrel is unsafe and will make the gun kick like a mule ,my advice forget round ball

thanks a lot. I use to shoot an 1851 navy and 1858 Remington. This is 1st shotgun. I was thinking it was like a civil war version but realize it came with chokes and chrome line barrel. I guess I learn to shoot or hunt turkey. I can shoot 00 buck without any issues.
So keep lead to 1 1/4 load. and powder 2f.
thank you so much. In 70 just to have some fun before time is up.
Ken
