re there any sites for used clothing. looking for one outfit for limited use. 1820 to 1840 era. no leather just cloth and wool.

Surprisingly, ebay and etsy both have a reenacting/theatrical section. It can be kind of hit or miss however...you may end up looking like a Napoleonic pirate!

The best places are to go to a large market fair or rendezvous, and look at the folks "blanket trading". You can find amazing bargains on clothes. I bought $300 worth of wool coat and waistcoat for $120.

Another source is auctions and even yard sales. I got a pair of thick soled moccasins and a pair of buckskin pants for a total of $60.
