Weather cut short my trip to Whispering Pines near Wellsboro this past weekend. Heavy rain forecast for Thursday night, all day Friday, and part of Saturday - and most of it came - meant that rather than camping with the full family and full setup, just my daughter and I went with my 6x6 wedge Saturday into Sunday. The time was too short, but as usual, it was a great experience. I didn't miss a target (of course, all I shot was the breeze), but I got to see friends like Nessmuk, Jim Fulmer, Mel, Eric, and Shep, trade a bit, throw hawks with my daughter and watch her improve from flailing to sticking her hawk regularly, and sing into the night with friends like Steve and Rose, whose farm will host the EPR in September. The fellowship and fun keeps me coming back to this event year after year.
(I'll try to post photos if I can get them linked from Google Photos; if anyone knows if this will work, please advise).
