When you buy matchlocks, handgonnes, wheelocks, etc are they fully assembled or they kits. Looking at their webpage they seem to sell only kits, which given my carpal tunnel and arthritis I'm not sure I could assemble.

The rifle shope sells kits primarily. However, it may be possible to commission a fully assembled gun from them. The Loyalist Arms people sell fully assembled guns.

My main concern is quality, my intrest in arms of this era greatly exceeds my budget. Still if I can save up may go for a wheelock from loyalist.

They can find someone to assemble it for you if you like, I think.

Also “are they fully assembled or they kits” not really what you might think of as a kit.
Locks are as cast parts, not finished parts, not drilled & taped, no heat treat.
Lots of hand work to do and no directions.

Save up all your money you can. Then you watch every sale site and gun show you can for the next 6-12 months. Be picky, but not too picky. Something will come up and make itself available.
Watch for parts. You said you can't assemble yourself, but there are plenty of fellas here on this forum given the parts and a monetary incentive who could make a nice firearm. If you had the parts perhaps you could watch a ton of youtube videos and read a book or two on rifle making and take a shot at it yourself on weekends. Then even if it comes out a bit ugly as long as it shoots it will have a special place in your heart as the first gun you ever made.

Forgot I made this thread last year. Almost made a new one on basically the same subject lol ( too many hits on the ol noggin)

As much as I want to save up more to buy a higher end wheelock it just does not seem like it will happen. Are the wheelock pistols from loyalists a decent gun for the price? If for nothing else just " plinking"

Any thoughts are appreciated
