Some time ago I saw on the famous website a variety of Indian made locks - only - for sale. I don't see them listed anymore.
Does anyone know where I might be able to purchase specifically, the pistol lock for the English Lock pistol ?
I placed an ad in the classified section of the Forum. Thanks for any help.

Ricky,

Try Blair at Loyalistarms. His website did have an assortment of Indian made locks for sale a few years ago. http://www.loyalistarms.ca/mainpage.php

what curator said. they will send you a list of what they have but you may have to pry more information from them such as measurements, etc.

Hi Ricky,
The India-made locks are manure and I know that from experience. Contact Leonard Day perhaps. I could build you the right lock but not for a while given my work load. Some India-made locks can be treated as unfinished kits but others are so badly made they are unsalvageable.

I have purchased 4 locks from msikligar in India. They take pay pal, and I had the locks directly to my door in a few weeks. I bought "non-snapping" matchlocks. They rely on a cam/lever system to strike the match to the pan with just a short sear movement. Proper hardness of the parts is not as critical as with a snapping lock. I have also had four different pistols with Indian made locks. Frankly, the quality was better than I expected (low expectations) Certainly better than some manure Italian and Spanish locks I have had over the years. Ever have a gun from Markwell arms.(Spanish) The lock internals often crumble on the first trip to the range.

Hi Dave.

I know exactly what you are saying. I only want this exact lock for a "fantasy" type gun I have in mind. (My imagination seems to have no bounds :haha: ).
I don't want to invest much $ in it. I would be surprised if the lock came without needing additional attention. But I can have this fixed, if necessary.
It will be a shooting gun with a short piece of good quality barrel. But not a "serious" shooting piece, if that makes sense. Keeping the project secret for now. :haha:

Ohhh......thanks guys for the additional info. If I don't receive any responses on this side of the Pond in a few days, I can order the lock per above. Thanks for the help.

Hi Bill.

How have you been? This project will be down the road for a while. But, I should have another project done in October and will post. Thanks.
