Talked to him on the phone one time. Seemed like a nice guy. Condolences to the family

On Pennsylvania's opening day of deer season, I'll be toting my .45 cal. flintlock with a 42" Getz swamped barrel. Maybe Don can help stop a buck broadside at 40 yards or so, and we'll both celebrate and give thanks.

Rest in Peace Don Getz, and thank you for providing such quality barrels for our shooting passion. :hatsoff:

I've talked with him several times at the CLA show. I have some of his barrels, one on my elk rifle. Very sad.

Don lived across the street from my brother in law, Bob King. Bob asked me if I wanted to meet him and I jumped at the chance one day we were visiting up in PA. Don was a gracious host and spent well over an hour showing me every gun he had built and treasures from his safe. We swapped many a tale about fellow stock makers and barrel makers in MD that day too. I regularly run into his son, John, at archery shoots in PA and MD.

Well I had earlier today responded to a posters quest Re Getz barrel marking & it seems to have dissapeared . odd but no matter . Thought Don was gone sometime ago odd it turns up . Rudyard
