This is my new toy. Haven't shot it yet. That will happen soon.
First time posting photos, I hope I don't screw this up.

Absolutely beautiful...you're gonna love it !!

Rifled barrel? Smoothbore barrel?

Thanks, I guess I didn't tell much about it did I?
It has a square bottom rifled B wt. 50 Cal. Rice 42" swamped barrel. Fancy wood, and since I just realized I didn't photograph the other side you will have to take my word for it but it has a hunters star inlay and an oval thumb piece inlay with my initals on it. Honey brown finish, barrel and lock antiqued, and the early style patchbox. Oh yeah, the lock is the large Siler.

Ya did a fine job posting the photo's. Better than me ( ain't done it yet). I am sure that you will really enjoy that fine rifle (I sure do enjoy mine). Please let us know how she does on the range.

No, for whatever reason every pic I took was from the same side so I will have to get out the camera again. I'll do it soon, it looks good from the other side too.

It is a beautiful gun....

I like the selections you made, alot.

Did TVM say that was a Early Lancaster version of their gunline?

Yes, it is their version of the early lancaster. I specified the patchbox, stock grade, barrel manufacturer (Rice), length and type (B wt. Swamped), the barrel and lock finish, the wood finish, and length of pull. I also choose brass furniture. The not yet photographed inlays (hunters star and oval thumpiece) are german silver. Everything mentioned here is out of their catalog. I think they did a great job on it and I am very happy with it so far, (haven't shot it yet). If it shoots as good as it looks I'll really be in love with it.

Honey brown finish

TVM does a great job...I have a couple of Early Virginia builds with the honey brown stain.
I also have that same 42" Rice B-weight barrel in .45 rifled and .54 smooth...makes for a nice long / sleek Flintlock...they carry well and hunt like a house-afire.

Enjoy !

If you don't already have range rods to handle that length barrel, I've had some 5/16" solid brass rods with 10/32" ends made at RMCSports.
Then I add a nylon muzzle guide, and add a 2" wooden ball on one end that's already got a 10/32" bolt through it...couple drops of Loc-Tite, done.

Dandelion?? Whats that? Just kidding I am a dandelion fighter for a long time now, also moles, I hate those suckers.

Beautiful rifle and it looks a lot like my recent EL from Matt. Actually mine - due to my incessant calls & e-mails - is as much York as EL and it doesn't have the usual EL mountings. We seem to like the same stain, too.

Hey, why don't you send it to me and I can spend a few months working up some good loads for you. No, don't thank me; what are friends for, anyway? Should you NOT :shake: want to send it you need to get out there and shoot the :bull: out of it! You gonna have mucho fun!
