Did anyone notice the free gun offer from "Sitting Fox"? That was great, I needed a good laugh. Maybe it would even work!

Check out their Price Rollback, that is a good laugh too. I hope everyone hasn't seen these yet.

I caught that about a month ago and, yes, it's pretty funny. I wonder if they'd accept the pelt payment, though?

I wondered about the pelt payment as well, and I imagine they would honor it, since they'd be getting the better end of the deal in most cases.
The free gun offer is great. I think I may need some overpriced soaps...wonder if you can mix and match scents...

I asked him a year or two ago about beaver trade for guns as we had hundreds that were not going to auction, he doesn't follow fur prices so hemmed and hawed, then finally said, ok, send them, I'll do it but he could only take shipment when he was back in MN? or wherever he is part of the year, rest he is in FL I think he said and didn't want them sent while he was away.
so, short answer was, yes, he'd do the pelt trade, more or less 40 XL prime beavers is a gun right now.

Good to know. Unfortunately, I won't be able to take advantage of the deal. Looking at current retail pricing on prime XL beaver pelts, it looks like they range from $100-150 on average (http://www.hideandfur.com/inventory/Dressed.html?Google), though I don't know the markup from trapper to retail. A SF Trade gun is ~$950, and their site says the going rate is 30 pelts (unspecified size or condition) per gun, which means a trade value of ~$32/pelt. For 40 pelts, they'd be reduced to a trade value of ~$24/pelt. I imagine it would be pretty close to a fair trade at those rates, but in SF's favor I suspect.
