rifle from Last of the Mohicans......

Anybody got any info or specs on the rifle "Killdeer" from the movie? I have someone who may be interested in having me make a close fascimille of it. Pics would be good...............

I had been wanting a "Killdeer" style rifle for awhile, even though I personally did'nt like the shape of the buttstock that much. In trying to find someone who could make me a similiar rifle, I came across Bill Rooks who used to make replicas of it. He doesnt make them anymore but he can give you specs and a traced outline of it if you ask him. He got that tracing from the original builder of the "Killdeer" gun Wayne Watson. There has been a couple of previous threads about this gun, might try a search.

I trust that you all realize that gun was a total fantasy gun from the directors mind. Not an accurate representation of a rifle from that period.

Yeah,there's quite a few posts on what people thought of the "Killdeer" rifle. Mostly about it's being a fantasy gun, but no pics or plans that I've ever seen here Swampy. The LOTM website used to have pics before. But now it's like all pics and close-ups just vanished.

I saw it for real. It is a fantasy gun. Lock, stock, and barrel. It may be cool on the screen, but it ain't that great in real life.

Yeah, I know it is. But there are some who liked it. Thats why Blahman is asking around.
