What a hell of a rifle. Which cal. has it and how heavy is it? Was it ever shooten?

Sorry i didn't have any information about this gun.Found it on a Auction website.
There was a Request Info email-link.
I think the coin is Quarter Dollar.The dia. is .955 inch when i'm correct.

That is quite a gun, it is pretty easy to see why there are no longer any elephants in Germany..
 
Hey folks whats wrong. Everybody can make 2 shots with it. One with each shoulder :rotf: Similar to the german Mauser tank rifle of WWI. :haha:

:hatsoff: Great looking rifle UT. I was just browsing through my "Lymans Loading Manual" and was reading about different types of rifling back in the mid 1800's. They show similar rifling to the one in your picture and refer to it as "Cape rifling" used in Africa for hunting. They don't mention caliber, but by the looks of the thing it would get the job done even on an elephant :grin:

:hmm: Don't know about "two" shots, I figure that thing would kill from both ends. You might not feel like shooting it twice :rotf:

A real man does the second shot even when one shoulder is heavily damaged :haha:

Yeah I'd shoot it, probably only once, but I'd shoot it. Question is if it would shoot both ways :confused: :surrender:
 
if you guys want to hunt elephants, come to calif. here we have no closed elephant season and no bag limits.. also have a very generous rino season..
