I didn't want to divert the thread so I thought I'd start another to further discuss straps. I made two, one by using burlap ribbon and splitting it (like RonnieK did) - mine isn't nearly as nice as his but nevertheless functional. The other was made from a women's belt.

this is the one made from a belt. The end ties will be changes and are not permanent.

Hanshi, the strap looks great! If i muster up the courage to adventure into making a possibles bag, i might use it on the bag also. That way my horn strap and bag match. You did an awesome job!
 
Good stuff Hansi...burlap is probably a bit lighter than the belt too

I got it at WalMart. It came in a 3" wide ribbon and I split that into two 1.5" strips. You have to do something to the edges to keep it from unraveling after it's split. It was cheap, too.
 
That it is, rb. I made a burlap strap for it prior to getting the old belt and may go back to that.
