Thats just great! I am in the 2nd year of trying to get one with my flinter so can feel for you. Fine looking little man beside you as well  Dan.

 Congratulations!
I love hunting season, great stories and good shooting. Timing is everything, being in the right place at the right time.

Proud for ya Trench. Way to stick with it for five years straight. Gonna make you up something this winter when I get time in honor of your persistance and for being such a fine gentleman. Always appreciate your demeanor on this forum. You deserved that buck in my eye.

Congrats to you Trench and the young hunter to be  Pics like that will be something to talk about for years to come  I have a pic with my oldest Daughter soon to be 23 years old when she was around 9 mos old with a bow killed buck that she looks at almost everytime she come to the house

Hey, congratulations! You may even go five years again without getting one, but aint it fun trying?

That shot was actually pretty typical for a good roundball hit. Sometimes they drop right there, and sometimes they trot off a little ways. Point is, he was dead when the ball hit him. I have a friend who just killed one with an '06, and it went even farther than yours, with a good lung hit. You did everything right, and your load is right on the money. Bill

Being able to pull off a shot on the ground and that close to a deer without spooking him made missing those two does earlier in the season easier to swallow.

Trench, it takes steady nerves to keep calm and take a deliberate shot like that, on the ground and with the deer in your face. That's the mark of a hunter. I think the deer are in trouble, now.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy, congratulations.

Spence
