that looks good ,did you do anything around the tang ? :thumbsup:
 
Looks great for the first try. I wish mine was that nice.

It looks a little tall and could use some shading, contouring. Check out Allen Martin's site to see what I mean- carving does not have to be high to give the sense of depth.

Mike, that cheekpiece is also very bold. Maybe sticking out more than 1/2" at the ledge? That's a lot. Now's the time to make sure everything is as you want it. Workmanship looks outstanding.
 
Very nice! Wish i could carve to that degree. very nice smooth flowing lines are a talent in carving!
 
Thank you everyone for the kudos. It's very hard for me. I draw and erase so many times that I have masny pencils with no eraser.
 
sounds like its time for you to get some stick erasers :rotf:
