If it's a muzzler, yes no problem according to BATFE regs. You can even have a removable shoulder stock for it.

most muzzleloading pistol barrel twists are 1/25" at the most....rifleling in most rifle round ball barrels are 1/66" that i heard don't make good pistol barrels, unless ya make it a smooth bore pistol....i'm sure that others will post also :v ............bob

I have made a few pistols with rifle twist one with a 11" barrel that would make clover leaf patterns at 25yds. They may be a little more picky about the powder/patch/ball combo than a tighter twist, but they can be highly accurate.

Because of the shorter barrel I guess you need a faster twist :hmm: the Ruger is 1X18 , Navy 1X31 Army 1X32, Rems a bunch more ? Dont know off hand what a target gun would use. FRED :hatsoff:

Cut up an inline barrel, they're the right twist.
Re the 1/66 twist, I shot a .54 made with a piece of rifle barrel (1/66) for several yrs. and won
most matches with it but it wasn't as accurate as my current .45 with 1/22 twist. I'm making a .45 now with a 1/66 twist so I'll soon know how it shoots.
