I am consider a used White mountain carbine for deer hunting. What experiences do you folks have? I need the good, bad, and ugly.

BUY IT!
They're a hard ML to find (at least here in RI).

The're a very good rifle. My hunt'n buddy has one and has consistantly taken deer with it. It's never misfires and gets 1.5" groups at 50 yards.
He uses T/C Maxiball 370's with 80 gn of real Black Powder.

Things to look for (on any gun)
Try to get a look at the bore.
Check for rust or corrosion under or around the nipple

Hope this helps

Fallingcrows has good answers. If it's not clean in the bolster,(around the nipple) then the bore probably isn't either. And don't pay too much.Around here ?150.00 give or take is the going price,if you can find one.......OLSON

$150 - Wow. :shocked2:
If I could find one for $150..I'd buy it - Immediately! The lowest priced one I ever seen has been $350.
