Would any one know into what period of history the southern mountain rifle fits. I would like to build one in a 36 cal and was wondering the time fram it would fit. I would like to build something to fit around 1790.

The Southern Mountain rifles were down through history, but they really didn't come into being as such until the western states were settled. Mostly after the very early 1800s. You will notice that this is when the Beans, Blevins, Kennedys, Bulls, and even my family started. I invite you to inspect my website for some information. Cheers, Bookie
