Hello ALL. Here is an email I received from a collector friend:
Hi Rick,
"A friend gave me the catalog of the December 2012 Thos Del Mar auction catalog with the James Lavin collection for sale including the Dinelly pistol. Here are 2 mainspring vises that also sold! The listing refers to Lavin’s article on these vises in an issue of The American Rifleman for 1966. Didn’t say what month but if you know someone with a set of back issues for that year, try and locate the article and see what it says."
The clamp on the left is 6 1/8 in. long so it gives you an idea of size.
Does anyone have a collection of American Rifleman Magazines during 1966. Not sure which month has the above information on the mainspring vises for miquelet locks. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
