Well, I might have gotten lucky....200 .45 caliber Hornady Great Plains bullets in .45 and 30 of same in .54. Now if the hurricane doesn't wash the seller away!

Glad to hear that you found some. My first two deer that I took with a muzzleloader years ago when I was a teenager were taken with a 50 caliber TC New Englander shooting great plains bullets. Both were about 80 yards and both dropped like a rock. That bullet shot so well in that rifle. Much better than a Maxi ball or Maxi hunter which I originally thought would be best since they were the same brand as the rifle. I stocked up on great plains bullets back when you could still find them anywhere. I'm glad I did now. Good luck with yours.

Thanks man.

Got the bullets! Never saw so many boxes of GPB in my life! 10 boxes .45 and 2 boxes .54.

The lube is flaking off though.....is that a concern?

If it is, what do I do about it?

I'm another fan of the Hornady Great Plains bullets. I bought up a bunch for my 50 caliber T/C when they were still available. As time went on, I noticed the lube had dried and was "flaky". Hornady says it doesn't matter.
I've put some in boiling water to strip the old flaky lube off, and re-lubed them. Didn't see a significant difference.
They definitely shot better than any of the other choices I tested in the 1:48 original T/C barrel. Performance on game was PERFECT...DRT....(as in: Dead Right There).
