Graf's was cheaper for me, and MPH wants you to fill out a form they will keep on file.
I didn't look at that part. I only mentioned it because the OP is in Massachusetts.
I recently ordered from Graf and was pretty happy with my purchase. Shipping and hazmat fee were reasonable I thought.
I prefer Graf's as well for BP.

Yea about five years back caps were hard to find. I stumbled on to a local hardware store that catered to the Amish and bought a case. I vacume pack them in groups of three tins. So I am probably set for life! MY nephew always checks wally world just after Ohio's muzzle loader season and he gets their inventory real cheap.
Yes, least shortage I didn't have a problem finding caps. Not allot of places around sold them but not many people are into MLs in the area(Las Vegas) I lived. One place that I had ear marked, changed ownership and they did away with all BP supplies, including the only place in town that sold BP.

My local gun shop The Powderhorn Outfitters usually has both size caps in stock
could 209 primers be used in place of--or in addition to #11 percussion caps on my Hawken style .50 cal.? bought 209s by mistake and probably can't return them. will it hurt the gun in any way? or will they fail to ignite the Triple Se7en I'm using?
There are primer adapters that can screw into the nipple hole that will allow a 209 primer to be used instead of a percussion cap but they aren't inexpensive.
They also aren't very easy to use because of the extra work of unscrewing the cap, inserting the 209 primer and then screwing the cap back on. Then, after the gun is fired, the 209 primers aren't always easy to get out of the adapter. Of course, if you drop the cap for the adapter, your out of business until you find it.

My local Dunham's has tons of CCI #11 in stock. I don't think people are hoarding them around here because in PA , muzzleloading season is Flintlock only and inline users probably use 309 primers or musket caps for that season. I bought 3 tins and 2 pounds of 777 to blow through my range shooter revolvers and rifles.
I don't think people know or care that Piettas can use pinched CCI #11's.
And really, the number of people looking for percussion caps is relatively small compared to people looking for actual ammunition to hoard. I'm sure if I did a poll of people in my area , 90% probably don't even know what a percussion cap is.
