There is going to be a market faire type event at Ft. Loudon Penna. this coming June (if the virus lets up) visit there web site for the particulars just goggle Ft. Loudon Pa. The fort it self has been totally re-done and it is a great site, also there is going to be unit shooting competition for the Pa. governors cup as well as individual competition. Sounds like a great event.

I saw that there was period camping, but I don't have that gear. Is anyone familiar with any camping areas near the fort? I can just google and see what i can find, but didnt know if folks had any advice.
I'd love to try to get to this one as my first event of this type. I'm hoping to see what is available, how shots such as these are managed, what kind of vendors and traders there are etc.

To the best of my knowledge there is a state park near by it is probably 5-6 miles out of the town of Ft. Loudon, (COWANS GAP) I believe there's camping not sure there best to google search and see if there are restrictions due to the virus, As of right now the event director ( BOOSHWAY) stated there were about 50 vendors signed on to the event, these will be vendors selling period correct wares suitable to the period portrayed. (1750s) He also sent out a mail stating a final decision as to holding the event due to the virus would be determined the first part of June. To the best of my knowledge the event will be a 3 day affair Fri. thru Sunday. The area it self is sits along the north branch of the conocheauge creek off of Pa. route 30 the town nearby is small but there is a really nice restaurant the MILKY WAY burgers that type of fare. And a very nice sporting ,camping, fishing store(KEYSTONE SPORTING GOODS) small gas station. Also MERCERSBURG Pa. is a short drive and better situated for restaurant's, grocery stores etc. Hope this answered some of your questions.

New up-date just received information that the event at Ft. Loudoun Penna. has been canceled until next year due to the WU-FLU, This is a real bummer as the event organizer is a good guy and devoted a load of work to get this organized, and it is a great site for such fixings. I hope you all will consider this event next year as it promises to be a shinin time.
