I took a totally rusted washer that had been outside for years. 7:1 Water:Mollasas mix took all the rust clean off in 8 days.
For my Barrel, I soaked the CVA hawken for just 3 days. I shot it before and after and the patch tearing went down noticably. I had previously tried kroil and steel wool, but it did not do enough. The Mollassas did the trick.
I think Mollassas works slower than evaporust and it does not attack bluing as fast as say vinegar does.

I have no experience with molasis. Naval Jelly is evil, never use it on any part of any gun, ever. It will eat up the good steel too. Evaporust is wonderfull. It will remove only rust and not bother good steel.

Have you tried white vinegar? Stop up the vent and fill with white vinegar . Check for leaks. Empty after 24 hours, and check with a ramrod and OOOO steel wool. Should polish right up. Slake with a clear fresh water rinse, dry and oil. Repeat vinegar until rust polishes off. Don't leave for longer than 24 hours at a time.
