Just wanna say thanks to all who post here - I came on a couple days ago looking for help/ inspiration. I have a 54 cal CVA I built up from bits - iron mounted - made the furniture meself and did a good job - its an excellent shooter and won me a few comps but the original CVA stock I used was way too straight and I load it hard (120 grains of FF) - shootin it stopped bein fun a long time ago so it was semi retired while I went on to flintlocks. Had looked at different ways to fix the problem but most of that was dodging the main issue of the stock. Well I dunno what trail I follered but it started here and led in the end to some posts that said bending a stock was kinda easy (not true!) I made up a solid jig this afternoon and practiced on a Brazilian Walnut stock that was surplus and low value - that worked real well but the process messy and then on to utube videos of an old guy at Brownells doing it so I attacked the CVA stock this evening. I reckon I got it ! its cooling out now and we will see in the morning - if at first ---- well I will do her again if needs be . So thanks to the team here - just reading you guys was the bit of impetus I needed to get this done.
