I recall someone... J.D.?... describing a "diamond" shape to the forestock on some rifles. Can someone explain what that is?

Hey Spence, the only thing I can think of is that it is tapered at the top and bottom and wider along the centerline. If that makes any sense. You know, kind of like a modified diamond shape, not sharp...Bud
 
"Diamond shaped" can refer to the forend or the buttstock. Some later Southern LR buttstocks have what is called this shape and some PA LRs from the Lehigh/Northhampton area or thereabouts have forends w/ that so called shape......Fred
