I know there was a thread here somewhere describing the process, but I can't seem to find it again.
This is a pity as I've just got the leather cover off a baseball. :surrender: It is MUCH harder than I expected & the inside surface is covered in glue. :stir:
Can someone post a link to the original, or otherwise help.

might have been me a few years back!

Count the holes on each piece and find the center so you can cut it in half. The holes are pre punched, so sewing up is a breeze.

here is a baseball and a softball.. 2 from each ball!

the baseball works up to .45 pretty easy.

Excellent, thanks. :applause:
How did you get the glue off the inside of the leather cover?

Acetone should remove any glue, but usually you can soak the leather in water, and just scrape the glue off with a dull knife.

Heh, heh, heh...Necessity is the Motherhood of invention  ...Bud

The Babe would be proud!!

I believe these were first used in 1919 by the Chicago Black(powder)Sox.
