I recently purchased a used Euroarms 1803 .54 Harper's Ferry, with no paperwork. Can anyone tell me the recommended charge of 2F for target plinking. Thanks.

It should work well with any powder charge from 45 to 90 grains of powder.

It is often recommended that a starting load should be about 100 times the bore diameter. In your guns case that would be 100 X .54 = 54 grains.

Loaded under a .530 diameter patched roundball that will give it a muzzle velocity of about 1250 FPS and should prove to be quite accurate.
