Fired three shots before being run off by rain shower. .54 Hawken Flintlock with 35" Sharon barrel, L&R Lock, Davis triggers. 100 grains KIK 2F powder using .530" Hornady round ball, spit patch of pillow ticking. Got front sight cut down to correct height/both front and rear sights staked! Fired off bench from 75 yards. I believe it'll be OK! This barrel is a dream to load....no wiping needed!

The sights are pretty close to being the same setup as I had on a .22 rifle in 1953 and fortunately the Good Lord has always blessed me with excellent vision. The front sight is a square post and fits real well with the rear barrel sight which has a square notch! Works great for me! Gonna try to set up my other rifles the same way!
