Anyone ever use a stand for a cap n ball revolver? I’d like one so I can load from the flask into a separate charger and then charge the gun safely without having to lay the gun down every single time.

Anyone make these?

I made several folding loading stands with a piece of walnut, a fancy brass hinge and a bit of felt. Not much to it and it does work quite well.

When not in use, the upright folds down making it easy to fit into a shooting box.

By the way, this stand was made for a Remington so the Whitney doesn't quite fit it like it should.
It does work with the pistol though.

Yeah the hinge may not be the sturdiest out there I guess. Never got around to replacing it like I said I'm lazy. I use a cylinder loading press for the most part now....

Are there any plans out there for a stand like this? I like how small it is for traveling to the range. Seems easy enough to make, just curious if there's plans readily available. They also seem pretty cheap to buy premade for around $15 on Dixie.
