This is the "finish"..The forend is beautiful red brown,but a mess,buttstock just ugly black..

Are these brass wedge plates available,or do I hafta make them? Right one is missing..

Left side of the lock area was okay,right side and the front were destroyed..I blew the whole thing out with a Dremel,replaced everything..I used water thin Cyanoacrylate to soak all the wood at the repair..NEVER break again,the core is basically a solid piece of plastic now..Every flaw more than a crack was replaced with wood..
That is amazing work, thanks for sharing.

WOW, Acker!!! I do some stock repair work myself, but would not have tried what you have accomplished! Great job, sir, great job!!!
Thanks Clint!! I do a lot of crazy stuff..A few months ago,I built a rotisserie for painting guitar bodies,built it to take different adapters for different stuff..This is a 1940-ish Stevens 56C stock I'm in the process of restoring..Stock was firewood..Varnish out of an airbrush..I'll be putting amber Shellac on the Shotgun project..
