Hey all,

Anyone know of a good online source of cow horns? I would prefer the "polished" kind, but any supplier will do.

Thanks!

I've tried a few known and popular web sites, but none really produced good polished horns. However, I have been very satisfied with Thunder Ridge Muzzleloading polished horns. Thunder Ridge will even respond to specific color request if those horns are available.
Just my opinion.

I've had good luck with October Country..polished and unpolished. A warning on the polished: I cut the solid tip off one, preparing to drill, and found a hole about the size of a 10d nail...made drilling easy, but I found that I had almost no wall to the hole I'd drilled, and I had a tough time getting the plug to grip...took the glueing on of a couple of bits of toothpick, and beeswax...Hank

i agree with bob he showed me that site good one better than what i was getting 14 bucks for one horn lol :front:

DGeraths,

I recently bought some polished horns off the web, I'll have to get back to you with the company. Anyway when I started working one of the horns I noticed there were shallow gouges left by the person who did the polishing. I was able to sand out the depressions but that obviously removed the polish. In the future I won't buy polished horns.
