I've killed several deer and likely a dozen turkeys with cap locks thru the yrs, and packed this smoothbore last spring for turkey and this past fall for deer. Just didn't get the right shot until the other day on a nice fat tree rat!
I even wore me old Timey duds to do it right!! Glad I had some wool on hand, it was about 28 deg that afternoon!



 
Congratulations...it's great to break in a new gun, love the blanket, I carry mine all the time when it gets cold too, amazing how much warmer you are!

Comin' up on that photo from the bottom of the page, I just about didn't recognize you...I'm used to seeing you in your 1860s garb, with caplocks.

It's nice to see that you look right at home in the century previous, as well.

That's a fine looking smoothbore, and you put it to right good use
