Mr. Selb has made a lot of his rifles from a pattern created by Doc White which was taken from the Bridger Hawken.
He also owned an original S Hawken and trades opinions with Don Stith on originals - so well versed is what a Hawken should look like and translates that into his work.
For the price he charges you would be hard pressed to get a better representation of an original Hawken in the quality of his work.

Right you are Graham.
He even makes the ramrods using period techniques.
Mine has a browned barrel, nose cap and pipes with a case hardened butt, lock, triggers and guard.
I am a technological dinosaur but when my daughter is home she can help me post photos.

Taylor Sapergia makes beautiful Hawkens recreations. As plain or as fancy as you want to havethem. As a Western builder, not as well known as the eastern guys but truly great work.
