First muzzleloader success actually. We have lots of wild hog here in Florida and It's my preferred hunt animal. I went to a WMA that is very scrubby and unfortunately gives the hog the advantage. They see you before you see them a lot of the time. I managed to get pretty close before I ran out of cover. I had to crawl the last bit to get a clear shot. I picked out a smaller one as I am unsure of the ability of a 45 rb against a large hog. Well it worked out and brought home some xmas pork

Relicshunter: Very fine job on a great eating hog! That looks like an early CVA/Jukar .45 percussion rifle you have there. Did I guess right? We had one of those some years back, and by golly it got 'er done.

I was about 15 yards with a small window that was clear. I hit a little up from the elbow, usually that takes the heart/lungs but it just got the front of the lungs. I am used to using a slug(shotgun).

Sweet. Well done, There's been some debate in the past about what caliber is "gun enough" for pigs

Fantastic! It sounds like you got closer than I would even want to. :shocked2:

Have you tried Lee REAL conicals? They might work better on larger hogs.
