    Good Traders

Gosh, let's see. My first transaction on here was through @BillinOregon 13 years ago. I've bought several guns, on multiple sites, from him. ALWAYS A Class Act to deal with. My last Transaction was with @bornintheussr. Honest, upfront, clear, concise, professional, great shipper, my...

Oh, Come On With the Inflated Caps!!

I got to thinking. In 1982, I was making $3.35/hr, which breaks down to 5.6 cents a minute, and caps were still around $1.00/tin. It took me 17.24 minutes to earn a tin of caps. At $25/hr, you earn .42 cents per minute, and caps $15 a tin. You have to work 35.7 minutes to buy a tin. If you...

Oh, Come On With the Inflated Caps!!

Dad talked about a penny a bale in Alabama. They made more money catching crickets under the bales and selling them for fish bait.

Flintlock smooth bores are hard to beat

I watched an old time gunsmith bend a 20ga barrel to change POI. He folded a towel on his bench, unbreached the single shot, raised the barrel over his head like chopping wood, and SLAM DOWN on the towel. He took it outside and used a pattern board. The customer was happy. Btw, the...

Anyone ever seen or used this Patch Lube?

Lye soap... surely not. Wood lye, ie potash, used in lye soap, will eat the bottom out of a 5 gallon metal bucket of ashes if left in the rain. I grew up with a wood stove for heat, I can testify to lye strength. I'd sooner use it for bathing or Fire stsrter than patch lube if that's the case.

    CVA Mountain Rifle Lock Problem.

I suggest you post your questions on a more recent thread, or create a thread of your own on the percussion rifle, gunbuilders bench, general muzzleloading, etc. sections. A 7 year old thread has usually been beat to death and not a great place to start a new conversation, IMHO. Btw, Deer...

Fusil de Chasse , new to me one

BOTH of them are fine looking long guns! I'm guessing they're both 20 bore? I'm gonna have to start on my LH smoothbore flintlock soon. I've waited too long. I have the lock, stock and barrel... just need time.

Oh, Come On With the Inflated Caps!!

I remember when caps were $.99 a tin. But I was 15, gas was .89 cent/gallon,a coke was 25 cents and I hauled hay for 07 cents a bale. 1980. My best ever powder deal was in 2011. I made a friend thru N-SSA and he went to Friendship. He bought me 2 rolls of musket caps for IIRC, $15 a sleeve...

Is it true the new Colt signature series is Italian made?

You know Batman never went that long without a sequel... it must be time for a re-deux. Chapter II. 😁

Anyone ever seen or used this Patch Lube?

Based off the name id say it has Beeswax in it, and an oil of some kind. I can say I've never bought bullet lube. I used crisco at first, way to messy for a 15yo. I went to spit patch and never looked back. I have used axle grease, crisco, etc for REALs and Mini Balls. If I'm loading at...

    40 cal. Kibler SMR

I have peep sights on several rifles, mostly old centerfire, I got my first in 1980. Amazing how much they help. You're correct, I lose about an hour of hunt, so I just watch after I can't see the sights.
