22reloader sells them. I am told there are plans on the internet available. There was also someone here experimenting with making one and it was suggested he make and sell them here. I borrowed one from a fellow shooter.

It’s been about a decade since I bought caps, Rem #10, but the packaging states it has 40% more flame volume than their previous design, and gives a little picture to show you the difference. I’ve used them shooting Triple 7 and Pyrodex and it works just fine. I prefer Olde Eynsford myself and one day will try Swiss. I prefer black powder as well.
They seem like the best idea going right now, but $25 for 200 empty caps is a little pricey when you already have caps. $15 but seems like it would be about max IMO

It’s high I know. 36 cents per cap if you order a 1000 (4 tins). Get together with some other shooters in your area and order 5000 or so and split the cost. Hazmat and shipping would be a one time charge as this would be a one package shipment. Instead of complaining, reach out and see if there is a club or group in your area and you could all benefit. Red River Renegades in Electra use Toby Butler and he delivers to the range. Maybe someone in your area as a supplier would do the same. Good luck.

Ok so at these prices what's the average cost per round to shoot rb's in my custom percussion .54?
For me I hear the manufacturers loudly telling me they don't care and to f***k off so I have.
When someone says they hate me and don't want my money I believe them.
So to me making my own isn't solely due to scarcity its me doing as asked.

$30/lb powder/7000 grains per lb/ 90 grain charge/ 77.77 loads per lb = .38 per load powder.
Grafs 3 tin limit with shipping and hazmat = .21 each +\-
So there’s 59 cents per load less the roundball, patch and lube. If you cast your own depending on lead source that will probably make your total somewhere in the neighborhood of around.70
Per load. I have caps and powder from the 70’s/80’s and lead that was given to me so I’m around 10 cents per or less. I have blue paper sleeves of caps, RWS 1075, marked as Navy Arms. Life is good.

Seems like it will be a buck a round soon. Glad i too stocked up long ago. Newbies will bear the brunt and ML in general seems to be suffering. Overheard several folks at recent shows saying they were going to quit when their supplies ran out. Other said its flat too expensive to even start. $30/lb is now well over 10 times what we paid in group buys pre 2000.

I’m pretty much set for life with what I currently have. Plus I have my choice of percussion or flint. Have every thing I need to make my own thanks to 22reloader on the percussion side. Able to make my own flint’s for the rock locks as well. Not very pretty but they work.
Fortunately, I only live about 20 minutes from the Gun Works. I haven't purchased any for a while so I don't know whether they're still limiting them to one Tin per week. They stopped shipping them when the shortage started. I think the last price I paid was $13.25. I prefer Remington so the most I've paid is $17.25 at the Tannerite Outlet store.
