I am 81 years young and have been a black powder guy for more than 40 years. Five deer have fallen before my mighty T/C .50 Hawken during the PA flintlock season. Never had a misfire and only one missed deer. We had gale force winds that day and I was in a tree stand that swayed back and forth like a pendulum. The deer was standing still but I was moving violently from left to right. This is not an excuse for my bad shot, it is the reason.
As a member I think that I have permission to wax eloquently on topics near and dear to my heart. Relax. Just kidding. Ben Franklin said it best when he wrote that you learn more when listening than you do when talking.
Happy to be aboard,
Pete
